IA and GE - Aviation to Present Technology Licensing Case Study at Boston Conference
ROCHESTER NY: October 22, 2007 IA President Steve Skewes will join GE - Aviation's Mark Meyer to present a technology licensing case study at the "Accelerating Innovation: The Open Innovator's Toolkit" Conference in Boston MA on November 4-6.
The presentation, entitled "Winning Together", will explain the advantages of a licensing arrangement between a major worldwide corporation such as GE - Aviation and a smaller, lean manufacturing technology innovator such as Induction Atmospheres. The two companies recently collaborated on the development of a new induction heating vacuum furnace which can be used to repair turbine engine fan blades. GE- Aviation recently purchased eleven of these systems for facilities in Greenville, SC, Hookset NH, and Evandale OH.
"The key to a successful licensing deal is a strong relationship and corresponding trust between the two companies" said Mr. Skewes. "Mark and I will be talking about how our two disproportionately sized-companies overcame the initial cultural and legal obstacles to forge a mutually profitable relationship."
The conference is the ninth in a series of executive briefings presented by yet2.com, which provides intellectual property consulting and licensing services to world-class clients around the globe. For more information about the conference, please visit www.yet2com.com.
